The Obstacle is the Way
Who are you really? Do you know? Are you the person people see on a sunny day at the park, a good day at work, after finishing a productive project? Or is the real you the one who can’t stop sobbing at 2am, the one who feels broken and overwhelmed, the one who tries to keep going when everything seems to be going wrong? The reality is that adversity is our greatest blessing. You can’t know who you really are until you have to deal with the worst day of your life and come out the other side. When you fail do you blame those around you or your circumstance or do you dig in and try harder. No one really learns anything from success except a momentary boost to the ego. If you really want to learn and grow then you have to accept that suffering is your best teacher. Until you can accept the idea that everything that happens is your responsibility, until you realize that the only thing you control in life is how you respond, you won’t grow.
